Follow Jesus

John 21;20-22 20 Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them, the one who also had leaned back against him during the supper and had said, “Lord, who is it that is going to betray you?” 21 When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, “Lord, what about this man?” 22 Jesus said to him, “If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me!”

Peter like many of us had misdirected concern. Instead of taking time to consider or even process the implications of what Jesus had just given him, he turns his attention seemingly preferential treatment that John was receiving from Jesus.

As a people we can get so wrapped up in what’s going on around us that we don't give proper attention to what's going on inside of us.

Jesus was challenging peters preoccupation with things that did not directly involve him and would take his attention away from his God-given priorities.

Lean into the challenge of God to remain focused on the the things that he has placed to our charge regardless of what's going on around us.
